OPERATIONS UNDER LOCK DOWN LEVEL 3

 

THE KZN AMAFA AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE CONTINUES TO COMPLY WITH LOCK DOWN REGULATIONS WHILST RESUMING SOME OPERATIONS:

IN THE MAIN STAFF CONTINUE TO WORK FROM HOME BUT A SKELETON STAFF MANS THE OFFICES ON MONDAYS TO THURDAYS FROM 08:00 – 15:00 – PHONES ARE NOT MANNED ON FRIDAYS.

STAFF ARE NOT GENERALLY CONTACTABLE BY PHONE OTHER THAN WHEN IN THE OFFICE.  QUERIES MUST BE SENT VIA EMAIL WHERE POSSIBLE – see CONTACT US under ABOUT on the website www.heritagekzn.co.za.

ALL VISITOR CENTRES AND MUSEUMS REMAIN CLOSED AND ARE SCHEDULED TO REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL LEVEL 2.  HOWEVER, SHOULD REGULATIONS PERMIT, DECISIONS WILL BE TAKEN AS TO WHEN AND HOW THE CENTRES WILL RE-OPEN.

COMPLIANCE WITH THE HERITAGE ACT (Permits and approvals):

ARCHAEOLOGY & LARGE DEVELOPMENTS (SITES OVER 5000M2, CONSOLIDATION OF 3 OR MORE ERVEN, BRIDGES, ROADS, PIPELINES, ETC.: APPLICATIONS MUST BE LOADED TO SAHRIS (www.sahra.org.za – sahris). Staff are in the office on Wednesday and Thursday if they are not out on inspections.  Where possible send queries via email or message on sahris.  Email: Bernadet bernadetp@amafapmb.co.za or Sumeri phoarchaeology@amafapmb.co.za. ROCK ART: Staff are in the office on Monday and Tuesday only.

BUILT ENVIRONMENT APPLICATIONS: ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE EMAILED TO  beadmin@amafapmb.co.za as no hard copy applications are being accepted or processed.  Applications may also be loaded to sahris (www.sahra.org.za – sahris) but a message must be sent to beadmin@amafapmb.co.za to alert the staff to the submission.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE MADE IN FULL.  MINOR WORKS APPLICATIONS (see definition on earlier notice on this webpage) can ONLY be submitted by email but staff will fast track these applications where possible.  No promises can be made at this stage and no time frames for the processing of these applications can be given.  Email the applications to beadmin@amafapmb.co.za and identify them as MINOR WORK + STREET ADDRESS  in the subject field on the email.

Philani Ndabezitha, survey@amafapmb.co.za, is in the office on Mondays and Tuesdays and Khanyi Zondi, beadmin@amafapmb.co.za, is in the office on Wednesday and Thursday.
